Hola Amigos!
This year marked the beginning of new decade for me :) Yes ! I was excited for this birthday more than ever. Fortunately being in Cayman Islands proved to be really lucky for me as it's Covid free and we have the liberty to roam around without masks ! This is the best place to be at right now.
I took a day off on my birthday as my loving utterly butterly husband has planned a surprise for me. I am fond of surprises , certainly most people are. I was pleasantly surprised by his efforts to decorate the table with a beautiful cake, candles and bouquet of roses! I really liked his choice of cake. It is one of the most beautiful cake I have seen. It was a "Tree of Life" cake and looked stunning.

Next morning, after taking blessings from family members , we went to quite famous place for lunch, called Grand Old House. It is probably the oldest building on Island, hence got this name. I was super elated to know that we were going there for lunch.

I already had picked the my birthday dress months before and just like every other girl, this was the day I was waiting for. We both got ready and headed towards Grand Old House. It was a sunny day, everything looked so perfect, no rush! I was really enjoying every passing moment. We reached the place and chose to sit outdoors. Although, the tropical heat was at its peak but we both prefer sitting outside. The ocean was glistening and birds were chirping. Our waitress was also very enthusiastic, bubbly and friendly. She even took beautiful cheesy pictures of us !

Grand Old House is great for special occasions. For a regular meal, considering it might fall towards expensive category. They do have special Tuesdays for Pasta and salads which is $25 per person. Their menu is great and food served is fresh and delicious, but I found the quantity of few dishes less compared to the price point. We ordered mushroom ravioli and vegetable pasta. I found ravioli wasn't sufficient for the two of us , however, pasta was just okay. It also varies on individual's portion size. For someone with great appetite, it might not be sufficient to share.

After the grand lunch, there was another adventurous activity lined already. We both enjoy water sports and booked the wave runner with Red Sail Sports at Kimpton beach. It was one of the best experiences I ever had. I have tried jet-ski in India as well but it was led by the instructor. This time, it was just me and my husband on a wave runner. This idea itself sounds so adventurous and exciting ! I was bit scared too because it was first experience for him as well. We had our life jackets on and we know how to swim , that made us confident and we went on this adventure!

It was so much fun, we would definitely try this again! Red Sail Sports at Kimpton is such a convenient facility to try out water sports. You would need a credit card for the booking. They won't accept debit card. There is a restroom at backside to change and an open shower. The restaurant at Kimpton is great and open for everyone. You can get drinks, gourmet food, salad bowls and relax under the sun ! This place is awesome! There are many water sports options available like kayaking, paddling boats, water cycle, banana boat etc. at reasonable rates.
At last, when I reached home I got another surprise planned by my sweet friends. I really enjoyed the cake made by them and the attention I got on my special day :) I feel so blessed to be part of this group.
